One of the neatest things about where my family and I live in Freeport, Maine, is that our road is the main route to the local boatyard, Brewer South Freeport Marine.  DiMillo’s works with this yard on a regular basis for hauling and launching many of our clients Sabres and Back Coves.  On any given morning or afternoon, while waiting for the school bus at the end of our driveway, we are treated to the sites of these magnificient vessels “driving by” heading to the water.

On Monday afternoon, we had an extra special treat in seeing Dutch, the 100th Sabre 48, heading to Brewers to be transferred from the hydraulic trailer to a flat bed for her journey south.  The custom bottom paint color looked fantastic!  Needless to say, my seven year old son, Crosby, was quite impressed and this was the highlight of his week.  He asked me if he had seen that boat before and in a way, he was correct.  Last year, while waiting for the Southport Island Bridge, the Sabre 42 Dutch was in front of us.  Of course, they were comfortable waiting, with their skyhook engaged, while we were jockeying around in our converted lobster boat.  Please enjoy the photos of the 100th Sabre 48 Dutch being transported, as well as, the former Dutch , the Sabre 42, by the Southport Island Bridge.
